Let's Play Pokemon Yellow Episode 62 - Regal vs. Giovanni

Subtitle: Gary Motherfucking Oaks surprise return On the third floor behind a locked door is a teleporter. That teleporter will lead you to a room that has a teleporter which goes to the top floor and to Giovanni. but guess who stands in out way. Gary is back with much better pokemon than the last time you met him. Almost all of them fully evolved (the Kadabra in yellow version and potential Growlithe in Red and Blue are the only exceptions). His team is pretty well rounded and can be surprisingly strong for those who are unprepared. Use strengths against weaknesses for this battle and you should come out on top. After beating Gary, talk to the other guy in the room and he will give you a Lapras. Lapras is a very nice pokemon to have, especially if you need a water type Pokemon (or at least someone who knows surf). You get it at lv. 15 so it will take some training, but it can be a great addition to a team. After taking the teleporter, only one more Rocket grunt stands in the way (this will be the last "Jessie and James" fight if you're playing Yellow) before you face Giovanni. Giovanni has a similar team to when you fought him in Celadon, except that he added a Nidorino and a Nidoqueen to his team in place of his Onix. Most of his pokemon are around the same level as Gary's but they all have common weaknesses and not very strong attacks. If you had an easy time with Gary, Giovanni should fall easier.
